Thanks to its AB-built cogenerator this clinic in Pavia will be able to reduce its carbon dioxide emissions by about one thousand tons a year, the equivalent of 50,000 trees through photosynthesis.

The electricity produced, much of which is in the medium-voltage range, will be entirely self-consumed on-site by the Institute. The thermal energy, on the other hand – reclaimed from the combustion process, the engine and fumes in the form of water at 90 degrees – will be used in the colder months of the year to heat the hospital, reducing the use of traditional boilers by about 60% .  In the spring, summer and autumn the Institute’s thermal energy requirement will be fully met by the cogenerator.  The annual saving in energy costs will be 750,000 euros.
