ENERGY EFFICIENCY AND SAVINGS ON UTILITIES BILLS IN THE HEALTH SECTOR – THE NEGRAR HOSPITAL IN VERONA CHOOSES A COGENERATION INSTALLATION SUPPLIED BY AB

With its three social and health facilities located side by side and approximately 900 spaces for patients, the IRCCS Ospedale Sacro Cuore Don Calabria in Negrar (Verona) is one of the most important healthcare providers in the North-Eastern part of Italy. Recently, in order to meet the strong demand for thermal and electrical energy, the hospital’s administration team has opted to install a cogeneration plant used to supply both electricity and thermal energy to the different buildings. AB technicians from Orzinuovi in Brescia began by analyzing the Hospital’s needs and subsequently designed and installed an Ecomax® 20 NGS plant with an electric production capacity of 2,006 kW and a thermal production capacity of 1,844 kW. The installation produces hot water fully consumed by the hospital structures, very Important its various functions. Thanks to this new plant commissioned at the end of 2018, the IRCC Ospedale Sacro Cuore Don Calabria is currently benefiting from a 60% savings on energy bills per year, in addition to a reduction of 2,325 tons of CO2 emitted per year.
