COGENERATION AS A COMPETITIVE FACTOR IN THE ENERGY POLICIES OF AN IMPORTANT GROUP IN THE TEXTILE INDUSTRY
Cogeneration is strategic for the textile industry.
The production chain of the textile industry requires significant amounts of heat and use of electrical energy.
Olimpias was born out of the combination of different industrial realities and stands today as a single state-of-the-art group in the Italian textile production landscape: gruppo benetton, which produces cotton yarns, as well as woven and knitted fabrics.
Soave’s Olimpias plant is specialized in the preparation, dyeing, and finishing of cotton fabrics. Thermal energy requirements are especially demanding, since production lines need 9-bar saturated steam and 90°C water. A dedicated circuit delivers steam to supplement that generated by pre-existing boilers.
AB recommended the ECOMAX®14NGS system. The thermal energy is used for two types of preheating: the boiler mskr-up water and the water used to feed the plant’s washing equipment. This synergy has allowed for optimization of all of the hot water available.
